    Current Conference - The 24th Annual Symposium of the Society for Nonlinear Dynamics and Econometrics will be held at the University of Alabama, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama on March 10 – 11, 2016.

All conference attendees must register. The fee is $285 USD if payment is made by February 1, 2016, and $375 USD afterward. The registration fee includes access to all conference sessions, lunch on March 10 & 11, a conference dinner on March 10, refreshment breaks and conference materials. Additional tickets to the dinner on March 10 are available for purchase at $50 USD per ticket.

A block of rooms has been reserved at The Hotel Capstone, the only hotel located on the University of Alabama campus and next door to the Bryant Conference Center where the conference sessions will take place. The room rate is $139++ single/double occupancy (one breakfast voucher per room per day is included in the rate, in addition to wireless high-speed internet). Please make your reservations as soon as possible as there are limited rooms available. The link to reserve a hotel room is: (hotel). The cut-off date for room reservations is February 15 (or when the block is full, whichever comes first). Check-in time is 3:00 PM and check-out time is 12:00 PM. Questions specific to the hotel should be directed to info@hotelcapstone.com (identify yourself as an SNDE participant).


The Conference is providing a low-cost shuttle service to/from Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport , the nearest airport to Tuscaloosa (about 50 miles from the University of Alabama). You will have the opportunity to purchase a shuttle ticket during the conference registration process, at a cost of $15 per person, each way. Specifics about where to find the shuttle at the airport will be provided once you have reserved a seat. The shuttle will be available on the following dates/times: March 9, from Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport to the Hotel Capstone, at 12:30 PM and again at 4:30 PM March 12, from the Hotel Capstone to Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport, 6:30 AM and again at 10:30 AM The shuttle schedule is somewhat tentative, and will depend on actual demand for the currently listed departure times. Additional times may also be added if there is sufficient demand. Please email: sndesymposia@live.com with questions. The Society is providing fifteen (15) reduced-rate registrations for graduate students. Available on a first-come/first-serve basis, the reduced-rate student registration fee is $185.00 US and will be available to the first 15 graduate students who email sndesymposia@live.com . Please include "Student rate" and your name in the subject line, and note that student registrations must be completed/paid by February 1, 2016. Any student requesting this reduced-rate will receive confirmation via email with instructions on how to access the rate on the registration webpage.


The Society will award two $500 prizes: The James B. Ramsey prize for the top paper in econometrics presented by a graduate student; and the Gerald P. Dwyer prize for the top paper in finance presented by a graduate student. Graduate students' electronic submissions should be followed up by a letter on official university stationary from a professor certifying that the submitter is a graduate student in good standing. An electronic version of this letter should be emailed to Kevin Lansing at kevin.j.lansing@sf.frb.org by March 1, 2015.

The aim of the meeting is to present and discuss recent developments in theoretical and empirical analysis of nonlinearity in economics and finance. Confirmed keynote speakers are Timo Terasvirta (Aarhus University) and Craig Burnside (Duke University). The local organizers are Jun Ma (University of Alabama) and Junsoo Lee (University of Alabama).”
